ASP Taekwondo was founded by Master Mario Rejtano in 2000. Master Mario Rejtano traced his lineage to Master Jeong-Tae Kim - the 1973 Heavyweight World Champion - and Master Tiger Kim. After earning his 4th Dan black belt Mario eventually opened his own dojang in Bundaberg, which quickly developed a reputation for having formidable fighters. Mario was Head Instructor of the club until his unexpected passing in 2009.
The current Head Instructor is Mitchell Archer, a student of Master Mario Rejtano who strives to keep his old-school style of taekwondo alive. The club is known for its friendly community atmosphere and for regularly travelling to Brisbane and surrounds to compete in tournaments.
